Mango Money · Security & privacy
Private by design, specific about the exceptions.
Your financial records belong on your device, with a clear explanation of when anything leaves it.
Mango does not maintain a financial-data database. The app is designed to work locally, and the one service it can reach exists for optional AI categorisation and does not intentionally retain the request contents.
Records stay on your iPhone
Your accounts, transactions, balances, mappings and categories live in Mango's private storage on the device. There is no Mango account, password or cloud database holding a copy of your finances.
Mango never touches your bank
Mango has no connection to your bank at all. It reads the statement file you export yourself, so there is no bank login for Mango to hold, no password or one-time code for it to see, and nothing in the app that could move money even if it wanted to.
Mango runs one service of its own, and only for optional AI categorisation. It keeps no database of your finances, does not intentionally retain request contents, and sends protected responses as non-cacheable.
No hidden measurement
Mango contains no advertising, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics, telemetry or crash reporting. This website also sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
Clear exceptions
- Optional AI categorisation can send a description, amount and currency when you turn it on; suggestions still require your review.
- The cost-of-living feature can request published inflation data from Ireland's CSO, carrying only the country code, series and reference months.
- If you email support, we process the contact details and message needed to reply.
Backups are yours
Backups are encrypted on the device with a password you choose. You decide where the file goes; Mango never receives a copy and cannot recover a lost password or recovery key.
